Cette introduction acc&eacute;l&eacute;r&eacute;e, de niveau bac+3, portera sur l&rsquo;histoire, l&rsquo;&eacute;conomie politique et la culture du Rwanda, du Burundi et de la partie orientale de la R&eacute;publique d&eacute;mocratique du Congo. Elle est destin&eacute;e aux gardiens de la paix, au personnel humanitaire, aux diplomates, aux chercheurs, aux entrepreneurs et aux journalistes de la r&eacute;gion comme de l&rsquo;&eacute;tranger. L&rsquo;enseignement sera assur&eacute; en fran&ccedil;ais et en anglais par des grands sp&eacute;cialistes. Ce stage d&rsquo;&eacute;tudes sur les Grands Lacs est organis&eacute; par l&rsquo;Institut de la Vall&eacute;e du Rift (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.riftvalley.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.riftvalley.net<\/a>), une organisation de recherche et d&rsquo;enseignement qui a son si&egrave;ge &agrave; Londres et &agrave; Nairobi. Le stage s&rsquo;inscrit dans la lign&eacute;e des stages annuels sur le Soudan et la Corne de l&rsquo;Afrique organis&eacute;s avec le plus grand succ&egrave;s par l&rsquo;Institut. The course is a fast-track, graduate-level introduction to the history, political economy and culture of Rwanda, Burundi and the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. The course is designed for local and expatriate peacekeepers, aid workers, diplomats, researchers, business people and journalists. Taught in French and English by a distinguished faculty of leading regional and international specialists, the Great Lakes Course is organized by the Rift Valley Institute (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.riftvalley.net\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.riftvalley.net<\/a>), a research and training organization based in London and Nairobi. It follows in the tracks of the Institute&rsquo;s acclaimed annual courses on Sudan and the Horn of Africa. The Course Director of the first Great Lakes course will be Philip Winter, lately Senior Advisor in MONUC and formerly Chief of Staff for the Inter-Congolese Dialogue.
